• Alyson & Chris’ Mexican Themed Sayulita Wedding

    We were thrilled when our friend Mishka from Mishka Designs introduced us to Alyson and Chris. Mishka planned Alyson and Chris’ Mexican themed wedding in Sayulita, Nayarit and hired us to cater the celebration. Mishka creates a custom design for each couple she works with so we are always excited to see the designs that she has been working on. Alyson and Chris’ wedding ceremony and reception took place at a private venue overlooking the town of Sayulita with 360 degree views of the ocean and jungle. Included in Mishka’s design were a fun ceremony arch with colorful handmade paper flowers, “papel picado” chandeliers, a live donkey to escort the couple into cocktail hour and a tiny animal holding each and every escort card. The couple chose a menu to go with their wedding theme including cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres, three course dinner and gorgeous cake for dessert.

    Enfrijoladas Nortenas with Panela Cheese, Chorizo and Crema Fresca, Black Bean Epazote Sauce and Chile Morita Salsa

    Plantain Tostones with Smoked Salmon, Crème Fraiche and Dill

    Grilled Chicken Satays with Smokey Peanut Mole

    Sopes filled with Queso fresco, Black Beans and Roasted Peppers

    Mahi-Mahi Ceviche with Jalapenos and Coconut
    or
    Mayan Caesar Salad with Shrimp, Ancho Chile, Dusted Grilled Red Onions, Manchego Cheese and Creamy Avocado-Serrano Dressing
    and
    Grilled Mahi-Mahi with Sticky Rice, Plantains and Pineapple Chutney

    or

    Marinated Arrachera Dusted with Mexican Cinnamon, served with Smokey Refried Pinto Beans, Grilled Panela Cheese and Molcajete Salsa

    or

    Chile Relleno with Oaxaca Cheese over Cilantro Rice with Tomato Broth

    Guests were greeted with self-serve Lemonade and fresh Strawberry Mojitos with a custom open bar beginning after the ceremony. The couple danced the night away under the palapa and hand made chandeliers and finished off a wonderful evening with beer, champagne and tacos!
